1. 1000 Family/Youth March + Health & Resource Fair
When: Saturday, September 12th, 10AM - 3PM
Where: The march begins at 63rd and Ingleside at 10am. We will walk through Woodlawn and return to the Health & Resource Fair at the AKArama Foundation Inc. Community Service Center.
Why: According to the organizer Terrance Miller, the Health and Resource fair is being organized to provide Woodlawn families access to employment opportunities, health resources, and social services including free backpacks with school supplies for children. 4. Profound Dope Sounds Artist Expo
When: Friday, September 18th, 7PM - 10PM
Where: Refuge Live
Why: Inspired by his single Profound Dope Sound, the event's purpose is to give Chicago a taste of the city's best Spoken Word, Neo Soul, and Hip Hop artists in the area. To RSVP, visit johntheauthor.com!
9. Future of Benin Fundraiser
When: Friday, September 25th, 8PM - 11PM
Where: The Silver Room
Why: According to the organization, The Future Of Benin is a special project of Men & Women in Prison Ministries. The Goal of the Fundraiser is to raise $5,000 to begin the construction of a School House for the Children of Benin, and continue providing food and supplies for the youth they serve. 10. BornRAisedChi Presents: S.O.S.
When: Sunday, September 27th, 9PM - 1AM
Where: The Music Garage
Why: Chicago culture critic BornRaisedChi presents the first ever Start Of Something Project, hosted by ATS Mag & yours truly featuring the sounds of DRXQUINNX! Performances by Roy French, White James, Lil Keisha, Tee Swain, Landon Battles + more. Follow BornRaisedChi on Instagram for more info on the event.
