Just in case you missed it on snapchat, this CIMMFest weekend, I took advantage of the amazing weather and donated my time supporting upcoming artists, musicians, and entrepreneurs in, and out, of the Chicagoland area. After kicking it with Kap G at his private listening party to promote his ‘El Southside” mixtape, I ventured out to Transistor’s #UnpluggedFridays event in support of featured artists Bryan Khedive & Demetrius G. My weekend was capped off with a day trip to Chicago Heights for the Movie, Music & Mimosas party, where I got all sorts of goodies, including a free screening of Barbershop 3! Kap G "El Southside" Listening Party by #HelloHipHop, Right Now Tour, & hennessy
CIMMFest weekend is typically spent showcasing, and supporting rising influencers in the music, and film industries from abroad. For example, #HelloHipHop featured Mano at Chicago’s Chop Shop on Saturday, after Rapper, Lecturer, and God Box creator David Banner was at The Promontory on the 14th. Friday, Kap G flew all the way from Atlanta just to let us know that “El Southside,” is here and nothing can stop him. “I’m from the A, and I had to show [y’all] the real Atlanta,” he said. The private listening party, also presented by HelloHIpHop, Right Now Tour, and Hennessy, was to promote the project & for media to get a better look at Atlanta’s Mexican trap rapper. After everyone had a round of “El Southside” inspired Hennessy cocktails, guests were invited to turn up to the mixtape before a quick Q&A. The project is a mixture of rap, hip hop, and Latin influences and features some noteworthy mainstream artists like Young Thug and Pharrell Williams.
