"I'm actually looking forward to God just moving in my concert," says local gospel singer and songwriter, David B., as he prepares his debut Performance tonight at Destiny Worship Center, located off of Central & Chicago in the City's westside. It's been two years in the making since he made the decision to pursue a professional career in gospel, and he couldn't be anymore excited! Learn More About David B. and the goodies he has in store for tonight's show by clicking "Read More." Performance starts at 6PM! Even though he's been singing since he was 9 year's old, David B. (the b is short for his last name, borner) he wasn't always about the church life, professionally. If you ask him though, he'll give you two answers: "I will say I been [a gospel singer] all my life because I'm a church boy. But far as a professional recording gospel artist. I will say I made up my mind January of 2014." Two years later, He's still letting god be the glory throughout his personal and professional life. In fact, he wants to convey that growth and love of god to his fanbase through his music. "I want [people] to see how God can bring a once R&B singer and change his life...and show them that he can use and get the glory out of anyone!" Borner, who has been promoting his debut all week, is not just excited to debut, but to begin developing new, and maintaining old, relationships within Chicago's Gospel Community. He credits five people, in particular, to his most recent successes which include being able to perform in Pastor DEANDRE Patterson's Church, Borner's Gospel Hero! Here's what he had to say about his support group: "1. God first, 2. My pastor Elder Eric Thomas (Greater Harvest Missionary Baptist Church), who gave me the blessing to go forth with my project and vision, and for teaching me the word of God, 3. My Best friend Rylona (Meesha) Winford, who has made sure to keep me smiling and made sure I did not give up . She actually prayed for me numerous of times . If you knew her you will know why that's a huge deal, 4. My Founder Donald Buster woods . He was my leader who I sung under for some years in this group call "G3" (God Gets the Glory ) . He supports me a lot!!! He told me one Sunday that anything I need from him and he means anything, I got it! buster has stuck to that and I truly love him for that, and, Last but certainly not least, 5. my producer/Mentor Darrell "DJAY" Perkins . This guy literally told me that we about to make [my] name great . He is my toughest critic. It's amazing to me cause he is actually the first producer [to] pray for me, joke with me, but also correct me...He is amazing and I'm glad God linked us together. All of these people I named are so awesome in so many ways !! That will be shown at this concert . After praise and worship from the great Latina Cunningham, alongside concert host Meechie Wright, Borner plans on debuting his new single "Don't Pass Me By" which he says will make you guys go bananas.
